I really think confusion and short term memory problems are an anecdotal symptom of SD. That is, no study has proved the link, but those of us who have the disease have noticed a correlation through comparing symptoms. When my SD was raging in spring '08, I was struggling to keep it together at work (I'm an accountant) and my employer was gracious enough to keep me around because of the good work I had done prior to getting sick. Of course after the stem cell transplant I had chemo brain, and still work to remember things. Oh....that reminds me. My Psychiatrist prescribed Concerta, which is used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder (my attention is definitely deficit) and it REALLY WORKS on helping me maintain focus, complete tasks, etc. Not to the extent that I can return to work, but enough that I can read a book again, or finish a TV show. It gives me energy, too. If you are willing to add another chemical to your body, Concerta could really enhance your quality of life.

MICHELE:Don't worry! You can post anywhere!
DEANNNGRAHAM: I know what you mean, thanks to this disease, and all the meds I took, I have the attention span of a flea! However, even that is getting better now, as time goes on. I will say, tho, if I were still a Risk Manager, I am sure I would have been kicked to the curb!
