Thank you. A little bit about myself. I'm from the wonderful state of Mississippi. I'm 45, married to John (aka hubbypooh), have two neat kids--J.C. and Aden ages 18 and 14.
I was diagnosed with Raynaud's around the age of 16 and almost always have not felt right. About 13 years ago, I started choking when I would eat. I had my gallbladder removed and my esophagus stretched and started taking prevacid. In 2003, I got Internet service and began searching for answers.
I didn't like what I read, but the truth hurts. I started a search on Raynaud's then that led to scleroderma--my gp recommended a rheumatoligist, anyhoo in August of 2005, BK (before Katrina), he told me that I had scleroderma. He put me on plaquenil, neurotin and lorcet plus. He would never talk to me, basically said live with it.
Chunked him found another rheumy that has actually done research on scleroderma and is not afraid of trying different combos of medicines to see which ones works and which ones don't. He wants me to live not just exist.

Nexium 80mg, Depen Titra 25 mg, pilocarpine 30 mg, hydrocodone 650mg x 4, nifedical 60mg, gabentin 300mg x 5, ridaura 3mg x 2, and trusty plaquenil. I also use nitro paste on hands and feet to increase circulation. I never thought I would be one of those ladies that carry my gallon bag of medicines when I go to the doctor, but that's me. I also have a wonderful gp, a couple of weeks my shoulder was killing me, and I went to Dr. Jackson. He asked me what was wrong and I told him. I asked him if I could get a shot of cortisone and muscle relaxers and that's what I got. And he was wondering why he got his m.d. At my last visit, I ask rheumy, Dr. Jenkins where I stood with my disease and he said that I am holding steady. I hold down a full-time job--which is very stressful. My youngest child has cerebral palsy and is sped classes. My oldest child is graduating HS this May. My husband is the district bridge engineer--which is also stressful. I love jokes and usually get a couple a day from hubbypooh during the winter. I have a wicked sense of humour--some people get and some don't.
