Well my general practitioner called about the CT scan and not the oncologist. He said the oncologist will be calling me next Wed. He said the lung nodule isn't seen on this new CT and all that shows up is a shadow. I asked him what that meant and he said he wasn't sure. Then he said ......BUT your lungs are ALOT worse than they were in February with ground glass. I asked him what that meant and he said he would have the oncologist talk to me about it. I persisited to try and get more info and wasn't successful. So I let my fingers do the walking and googled "ground glass in lungs" and I am not comforted at all. So now I get to sit and worry until Wed and the oncologist calls. I will try to think of the best but its hard. I'll let you know what I find out. If anyone has any information on what this could mean please let me know. Thanks and
Warm hugs, Peggy

Hi Peggy, I have experienced this as well. The ground glass appearance in the lungs comes from inflammation. With treatment, this does improve. I began the Gleevec trial with the ground glass appearance and about a 55% lung capacity. When I finished the trial, the CT scan did not show the ground glass appearance and capacity improved to 71%. I went about 9 months basically symptom free, but now the ground glass has returned. I have just started Cellcept, and am hopeful I will have similar results! But, I just wanted you to know that treatment will help. Take care, Kim

Peggy, In 2007 I had the same thing show on my ct scans. This was when my lungs were so bad. I think that the IVIGs have helped and the prednisone. I had a ct scan a few weeks ago and it showed that my scarring and acetolosis(sp?) were stable since my last scan in Sept. Sammie
