I would like to know what kind of heart problems everyone has and if they have been positively linked to scleroderma.
I was diagnosed w/scleroderma in the early 90's and have had very few problems. However, in the last year I was having chest pains when taking walks or mowing, etc. Just had an angiogram and only 40% blockage, but have small vessel disease. The cardiologist has not said that this is because of scleroderma.
Will be interested to see what's going on w/everyone else.

I had a mild heart attack 8 years ago. Don't think it was sclero related but because of the stress of my daughters death. As a matter of fact, that may have been the beginning of all my troubles!!!! I still have coronary artery disease and have a stress test and echo every year. Have to take meds for high blood pressure and Plavix for the blood. Also take two meds for high chloresterol (??)

I have a stiffening of the pericardium (covering of the heart) and the heart muscle itself. My right coronary artery is 75% blocked. I have no symptoms so they have not stented that artery. I have been told that most likely The SD has caused this damage. Appartenty if the artery were 85 to 90 % blocked they would have done the stent.

Thank you for responding.
I see the cardiologist again on Nov. 11th and the rheumy the 25th. Haven't been to the rheumy in several years. I guess it's about time.

Even tho, I was told I was going to die, I never had heart or lung problems. Hard to believe when I look back!

Well, now I'm being referred to a pulmonary specialist. I see him Dec. 2. No inhaler or any meds to help me now.
Wait, wait, wait.
