I already noticed, as my heat has been on now for a couple of weeks my skin is drying...and we have a lot more winter yet How do you keep your skin from drying out.... I currently am using Neutrogena Body lotion and Dove on my face and neck......don't take "hot showers/baths...drinking water.... what else...?

I have been using Palmers Coco Butter formula on my hands since I developed SD. Seems to work well. Rheumy #2 sugested Coco Butter formulas. Previously I had used Vasiline (sp?) Intesive Care, after SD it did not agree with my hands. I was told not to use any lotion with collagen.

A good general tip is to apply whatever moisturizer you are going to use as soon as possible after showering/bathing as it helps keep the moisture trapped more in the skin. I use a variety of things, including Avon Skin So Soft lotion (oil in winter) which I sell. I also like Moisture Therapy from Avon; it is a very thick hand lotion which absorbs with no greasy feeling afterward.

thanks all, Makes sense!
Cocoa butter is used for "stretching skin" during pregnancy...to help avoid stretch marks....so I guess it helps the skin to stretch. I can't won't use much with perfumes or dyes if I can help it....
Steve, is that a script?...

My Dermatologist recommended Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion and Cetaphil Moisture Cleanser (both in pump bottles). I use these for my face (moisture lotion on my hands too) and use regular baby bath moisturizing wash (any brand...such as Johnson's) for my body. You can find these products at any store and they work wonders for our sensitive skin. AND....the baby wash smells soooo nice !!! kathleen
