I agree with all of you the things you mention are real problems. My automatic car starter has been a God send. I hate not being ablr to get my debit card or money out of my wallet. I have gone to using a large change purse rather than deal with the slots in my wallet for the debit card. I can't grab the change etc. and frequently have to ask the clerk for help. They think I am nuts. The same applies when I buy a bottle of water at a drive thru or concenience store, I have to have the clerk open it. I also take forever in store dressing rooms as getting the buttons and zippers and hangers to work etc. take a lot of time and patience.

When My SD was in full bloom and before medication one of difficult things to do was get gas. I could not get the credit card out of my wallet well then in our state you can't have the automatic fuel pumps so I would have the change hands about 25 times with every fill up. Then to get the credit card out of the pump I would have to pinch the card between my two index fingers to get it out of the reader. I could not get the card out with one hand. Frustrating to say the least.

Okay, guys and gals, now is the time for me to pipe in with my contributions to this very relevant topic that perhaps we best understand in each other!
It was a nippy morning with 51 degrees here in southeastern MI today. I was outside for about an hour in my winter jacket and gloves, and my head and hands were numb... (I didn't pull out the thickest mittens and hat since it is still August!) The whole experience reminded me once again that the colder weather continues to be a real problem and threat to my health. I know it, but sometimes it is fun to think these symptoms may disappear when the cool seasons roll around again. What a bummer.
Oh yes, grocery stores, gas stations, and just a breezy atmosphere (inside and out) are enough to make me very uncomfortable. I also am having a continued issue with my right index finger aching (leftover from last winter season) that doesn't want to let me forget what my body has.
Oh well, I must now quit complaining and go back to my more adjusted lifestyle and be glad there is nothing much worse going on...
Hang in there, all of you!!

I too have the same issues with grocery stores, getting the debit card out of my wallet, car doors, and using the ATM drive throughs. I also now very rarely go through the drive thru at fast food restaurants. I can't get my change or grab the bags of food and if there are drinks involved forget it as it takes two hands to grab the cup. At work, I have issues trying to separate pieces of paper in a document, paper clipping and anything that requires fine hand skills. Also, when trying to point to something or to give directions (I talk with my hands alot) people cannot figure out where I am pointing, which leads usually to a laugh or two.

I really don't have anything new to contribute. I have the same issues. I rarely go to the grocery store, my hubby usually goes. Sometimes I have to go to pick up a prescription, went the other day and though I was going to freeze, even with a sweater on.
I also get cold in my car with the air on, it is usually so humid and hot here in MD that you need it. I shut all the vents but still get cold.
And of course like everyone else, I hate the Raynauds and soon it will be even worse.

The only issue I have left (you can see the photos in photo section) are that my fingers are still bent somewhat at the middle knuckles to tips of fingers. I have no pain and no neuropathy but I still have a hard time picking things up from flat area, such as, today, I dropped my pill bottle top under my seat and Mike had to retrieve it as I could not get my fingers flat enough to reach under there.

STEVE201: I took ADALAT which is a calcium channel blocker. Took away ALL symptoms of Raynauds, meaning the cold, blue hands. Now, I did still have Neuropathy, but I took NEURONTIN for that. Hope this helps! Lucky you!!! My blood pressure is on the lower side so can't take any of the drugs that help with Raynauds. I'm glad you were able to take it. I understand from others that those drugs help. grammie

Funny how these things 'catch us' when we lest expect it. We are remodeling our kitchen. We were showed the new cabinets and the handles/knobs that go with them. I'm glad I was excited and tried them for I couldn't grasp the knobs well and the pulls for the drawers were too narrow for my 'funny' fingers! Oh well, fortunately, when they saw the problem they were willing to make adjustments.
