Think I may have found an answer to the heel pain. Although it has been to too bad for a few months it was still sore off and on. The past two weeks I have changed into my winter weight socks, even though it has been really warm here. The extra cushion of the thicker socks has made a large day to day difference. Should have figured this before as it is pretty basic huh. Must have just bruised it good back in the spring. Have to see if the improvement continues.

Once again, I guess we have to be grateful even for the odd things that happen. Maybe even check out some of those drugstore (Dr. Scholl's, eg.) shoe inserts. I think they have some for heels. In the meantime, use those thick socks for warmth and cushioning!

Good advice unfortunately I can't wear a very heavy sock. I normally wear a smartwool sock in winter not real thick but is doing the trick currently. I have thought about the insole solution you mentioned and that may be a good thing to check out next time I am off island. Thanks

Wow I should have tried a thicker sock sooner. I have had occasion to wear a thicker sock over the summer but never for more than like a day. Never for several days straight. Mostly pain free this past week. Liking this a lot.

Have not posted much of late as nothing is really going on other than trying to stay warm. The foot/heel has been pain free, so much so that I had not noticed it. This morning I was getting out of the house and loading up the truck and sort of turned hard on my left foot. Had just a slight twinge in the left heel. I had forgotten all about it over the past couple of months. Not bad at all.
A couple of good storms of late. Monday served up 70 MPH winds and 10" of wet snow. Worked in the morning and then knocked off at lunch as the roads were very slippery. Came home and did paperwork.
How everyone is getting along with winter OK. Already almost the middle of Feb. Spring will be here at some point - sooner than later I hope.
