Would like to know if anyone takes meds for this? If so, what do you take or have tried and what is/was the outcome of it?
I'm seeing my rheumy at the end of the month and am going to talk to him about it. I cannot stand how dry my mouth as become especially after starting long acting morphine. I think that's why I lost my voice is very hoarse. I don't know cause I had an espisode of this and lost my voice for 4 days prior to starting the new morphine.
Thanks.

I take Evyoxac (sp?) every day and this seems to really help. I also use what the doctor calls "magic mouthwash" that was a prescription mouthwash that I use. I chew alot of gum and I also try to use either Biotene or Colgate Total toothpaste. My daughter has also given me a few over-the-counter dry mouth products that work too.
Warm hugs, Peggy

My doctor put me on Evoxac, but unfortunately I had allergic reactions to it. So I use dry mouth products, tothpaste, mouthwash, spray and gel and they help some. But my eyes are a real problem and I can't really use my contacts very often.

Thanks Peggy and Sammie, I will look up Evoxac and see what it's about. I'm going to my reumy this week and will speak to him about it too. I've tried the biotene products and don't like them, didn't do much. Have tried a feew other products as well. I chew gum but my mouth dries out after a short time too. I guess the best thing that works is a sugarless candy, but again, doesn't last long.
My eyes are also another problem too, I need to keep putting drops in my eyes. The gel lubricating drops seem to last longer.

The Evoxac has helped me almost 100% I love it and fast acting. Rheumy wants me on Plaquenol but don't know about it enough. I have right now for the last two months a burning tongue, gums no rhyme or reason from the doctor. Hugs, Sharon

I took the Evozac for while and it really helped, but then I got rare side effects from it so I had to stop taking it. I use dry mouth products, mouthwash, toothpaste, a spray and a gel at night. They help somewhat. I sip on water all day as well.
