Hyperbaric treatments seem to be progressing well. However, since last week, I have been having pain in my right thumb with throbbing as well as 'nerve pain' which radiates into rest of hand. Several days ago, I developed the white spot at top of thumb under surface of skin which once again indicates calcinosis. I had calcium removed from that thumb last December. So that was the pain--the calcium was getting ready to come up to where I could see it. The pain is crazy awful and really consumes me when it is present. The pain got even worse again the past few days, and sure enough, this morning I noted another spot next to the first one! The thumb is swollen, warm, and obviously extremely tender. I cannot bend my thumb and there is a lot of pressure under my thumbnail as well. Oh yes, I'm right-handed, too!
Merry Christmas, everyone!

You certainly have had a tough stretch Christel and now the calcinosis. Just time for Christmas too. What are you on for SD meds? I probably have asked before but can't remember. Has your doc thought about an adjustment in meds? Are the new spots small enough to come to the surface and pop? I guess I was lucky in that I never had to have any removed they just surfaced on their own. They sure did hurt for sure. Good news that the leg is still improving and I hope the shingles are improving as well. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Chrisel, you sure have had your challenges!! Glad you see improvement in between all this other stuff. It has been a difficult fall for me too, but most assuredly not as difficult as yours has been!!
In October I had radiation to my upper left leg. Found a tumor in 2/3 of my upper leg. Then Tuesday after thanksgiving found me with pneumonia. Thought I was just having the lingering side affects to find yesterday the lungs are full of wheezing! No, he says it isn't the SD kicking in but the SD hasn't helped the lungs any! So I am home once again and on antibiotics for 10 days and prednisone for 7 to see if it will clear up.
So not to get down, I have made a list of all the positive things I can think of...including some since I have to stay home for a bit to "rest"....oh so hard for me to do! You might try this too, christel. It has helped me. Merry Christmas all! Grammie

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy & Sclero-Free New Year!! Or at least "mild-Sclero"!! Hugs!!
