:(Well…..We are home from Seattle; Already miss the area and hubby’s family and friends there. I noticed within 24 hours that I was able to breathe so much easier there. Last night, second night home, I was back to the normal awake every hour or so unable to breathe or move very well. It is unbelievable how climate can affect our symptoms so much. I have 2 more years of living here before we can move back out west. I guess I have struggled this long with my breathing I can handle a couple more years hopefully.
The city of Seattle is simply beautiful. So clean and there is greenery everywhere even though it is a massive city. The people there are so friendly in most areas. We seen all the major sites to see in the city and then spent 2 days at hubby’s parent’s house. They are in their 80s and his father has alztimers and is getting pretty bad. We spent the first day visiting with them and by that night his dad didn’t know who he was. He sat there for a couple of hours talking to Mike about his son Mike. That was very hard on my husband; his dad used to be sharp as a knife and to see him this way now just breaks Mike’s heart. His moms is bad as well, she has congestive heart failure, copd and RA as well. She is extremely over weight and cannot do much of anything but sit in her chair. But, these people are the most kind and giving people you will ever meet. I so enjoyed finally getting to meet them.
The day we were supposed to meet up with Steve101 and his wife Marsha, Mike’s twin daughters finally contacted him after 6 long years and was willing to meet with him for dinner. They have not spoken in 6 years due to a very nasty divorce. Was such a huge eye opener for Mike as his daughters are 24 years old and they are heavy partiers and drinkers. When we asked if they were doing drugs they said “not the bad ones”!!! Their apartment was full of empty booze bottles everywhere. Despite their life style they are beautiful and healthy looking. It was such a wonderful experience to see Mike interact with his daughters, he has missed them so much!! It was hard for him to not preach to them about drinking seens how Mike is a recovering alcoholic. Sober for 3 years now!!! But he knows it will do nothing but push them away again. All he can do is be there for them when they need him. We only got to spend about 2 hours with them as they were more interested in getting back to their apartment because they were having friends over to drink and play rock band hero.
Anyway……..If you have never been to Seattle and you are looking for a new place to vacation at, go there!!! There is sooo much to do there. We also met up with Mike’s long time best friend and fellow rock band member. That was so cool. I saw old old pictures of Mike in his rock n roll days. LOL I would never have imagined myself with someone like him back then. I enjoyed listening to them talk about the old days and the fun they had back then.
I am amazed with how well I managed to keep trucking on through the pain I was in from all the walking and site seeing we did. I am certainly feeling it today; I am sure after I am done posting this I will be back in bed for the duration of the day trying to let my body recover.
If I can ever figure out how to post pictures, I have a lot of them I would love to share with you all. Like when we took a ferry boat ride from Port Orchard over to Seattle. That was the coolest thing ever. I have never been on a car ferry before. They have a café on the upper deck and booths and tables to sit at while you eat and enjoy the views.
The other thing I am amazed with is how well my kids kept the house clean for me while I was gone, but cannot seem to do it when I am here!!! I am glad they did while I was gone, but makes me angry that I cannot get any help from them when I am home and in so much pain.
Sorry this is soooo darn long, but there is so much more I would love to share with you but don’t want to bore you all with my long long posts lol.
I hope you are all well, and I thought about all of you while I was gone. Talk to you all soon.
Hugsssssss to you all!!!
