Well that sounds like a lot of summer fun Nancy. Getting away from it all is great! We go north in the winter for weekends but this year I would really like to get up there maybe a weekend a month this summer. Have to see how that works out. Living here is nice in the summer but by August the crowds REALLY begin to get to me. How soon will you start going there?

I have been to the Conway/North Conway area a few times at different times of the year and it has always been busy. Good for business and jobs but I feel your brother's pain! From Memorial Day on we are busy but I usually can deal with it until the first two weeks of August, then it is painful. I just stay out of town for the most part and that works pretty well.
Good luck with the search for your Shangri la.

That sounds nice, Nancy! We are trying to figure out a way to get away in the winter that can include our dog. We would miss her too much to leave for a longer time, and she's a bit large to 'sneak' in anywhere...jk! (75 pound labs are a bit obvious!)

**correction from my post about North Conway, he lives near the Saco, nice tubing river!
yes Christel...my dog can come though she is only 16 pounds, you would need to rent a condo!
Its gonna be fun,,,go to get dishes, pots and pans, etc....its gonna be an adventure, :-) Nancy...

Enjoy Nancy! Being near the water is special. And ten minutes will be helpful for your hubby to be there all summer too.
Jeff, when I worked in Newport,RI I enjoyed going to town but once "the season" hit, never went. Too many cars.
Yet, my hubby and I are taking a week in June to North Conway. The crowds help us find good places to eat. We drive down the street and look for restaurants that have crowded parking lots. Usually the food and prices are good and we often wouldn't think of going there. This is true in other areas that we visit. So "in season" isn't always bad....at least for us.

Grand kids put feet in the lake this weekend and took them out in a very big hurry. Sure isn't warm water yet!! Fun to watch them.
Hay there Jeff, you live surrounded by water!!

Yeah I am but we are just coming up on the enjoyable season to live on the island. Once I get the boat in life will be really good. Oddly enough I have only been swimming in a lake a couple of times in my life all when I was a youngster. Always been a salt water guy, I would guess your water tastes better than ours . There is a lake up near where we go in VT. and I have always wanted to SCUBA dive up there. Who knows maybe this year.
