Well, I haven't been out of the house since Saturday night...I can't stand it, but I can't stand the pain this cold causes me even more! The schools are using (have used) up their snow days, and we are still in the end of January. I know this is to be expected in Michigan in January, but come on! Hopefully we get a little break soon so I can go out just a little..

Time for a trip down south Christel? Wish I could but it is not going to happen. It has been cold here but the ocean keeps our temps up, a little. The harbors are starting to freeze over some. I am really looking forward to warmer weather. Doing bookwork today so at least I am comfortable today, probably turn on the heater under the desk. Toasty but after the snow stops I'll have to clear the drive again. Oh well at least he job we are on now is semi warm.
I saw a product in a surplus catalog the other day it was a snipers sleeping bag. Looks like a light sleeping bag with arms. It looks like a great idea but I know if I got in it I would never get off the couch.
Stay warm.

I had a mayo clinic appointment on Tuesday but cancelled due to the cold and windchill. Its kind of a long drive for me to go and I heard with this cold cars breaklines freeze and burst, tie rods break and the road chips up and your tires implode. So just didn't want to take a chance and be stranded.

Wow, never thought about the cars having trouble too! We aren't that cold but it is the wind that does me in. It is so strong off the lake that I'm concerned it will blow me over Really!

Yeah I know another weather post. The bright side of all this is that we are perhaps getting close to some spring days. We had a near 50 degree day last week, cold again now though. Locally we usually have a few nice days in March out here on the island, we don't have much in the way of a spring. It does get warmer but not like the mainland. At any rate if we get a few nice days I'll take it. Think warm.

I say 'amen' to that, Jeff! This winter has been brutal for even all the 'normal' folks out there! I am trying to just hang in there for a bit longer until spring and its weather arrive. After all, what choice do I have...?!

I'm hoping this snowy winter isn't a sign of a wet spring/summer! Where is all this moisture coming from? ?

I took a couple of days off from work for a little R&R for a trip to VT. for a long weekend. Yesterday coming up it was not too bad but this morning I woke to 2 degrees. It is up to 9 now at 1 PM. So I layered up and got out for a few snowboard runs. It was one of those two run mornings and then into the lodge to warm up. Conditions are great finally. Lasted about two and a half hours and warmed up relativly quickly once I came in. A fun morning all in all. I am not sure how you guys that live in areas where it is that cold day to day deal with it. It is one thing to jet out for a few runs on the hill but all day every day that is another story. Today I used two pairs of warmers in each mitten and trust me they did not last long. It is supposed to be up to 23 tomorrow. That should make a big difference. Stay warm!

Well, I had the chance to be out in the negative 10 degree cold at 7a.m. today...I was enrolled in a day long seminar and HAD to leave my home on this frigid morning. Not good. I am holed up back in my house right now. I am so darned sick of this baloney...

How was the seminar? Any tips about staying warm? Holed up - isn't that now referred to as "shelter in place"? Either way not a bad idea in this weather. We just got a new car, first one in a long time, and it has a heated steering wheel. Oh yeah! That is really VERY nice on days like today.

So tomorrow is the first day of spring, does this mean it will be warm now?

Well, the calendar can't be wrong, can it? Kind of like the commercial on tv that says everything on the Internet is true...! It certainly is not spring-like here today. We sure all deserve (and will appreciate) warmer weather when it does decide to show up.
Weather. What a topic...!!

Well life seems to be giving me lemons so I am going to make lemonade. Headed north for the weekend for a bit of snow fun. Got my hand warmers and electric gloves charged up. This afternoon the sun came out for a couple hours and it did feel nice. It was even warm enough to accomplish some electrical work in an unheated house today, didn't have to lug my heater with me. Maybe someday it will be spring.
I did have a couple of Raynaud's episodes earlier in the week. Now it is warmer the dampness has returned. Can't win.

Well, hello there, Jeff! I sure do hope you like lemonade! It is snowing here as I write this and I hear on the news that your area is getting one of those nor'easters for which you are so famous!
On the bright side, though, we are supposed to get to the low 50's by the weekend--woohoo, bring it on already!

Yes we are supposed to get up to a foot of snow tonight. Maybe blow 70 too. Super! I like the white stuff up north - here not so much. Snow conditions up north are really great. Best in several years. Hope to give it one more try this weekend and yes it is supposed to be warm there too. A bit of spring boarding. They are calling for warm but rain here Sat. and Sun. Warm is good though right. Maybe just maybe spring is coming. In spite of all this cold stuff is starting to grow... a little.
