HI there every one!
I see not many have posted and wondered, just in general, what you've been up to. As a friend, I've wondered where you all are.
We have had the opportunity to do some visiting both away and here. Over the last two months we've been up to Lincoln ME (5 hrs north) to see Ralph's sister/husband. We have also made the rounds to see our daughters, husbands and our grandchildren in Oneonta, NY (5 hrs) and Lakeville, CT (3hr) as well as spent a little bit of time in Lee MA. One of the things we did while in Lee was to visit the Crain Paper mill Museum. That is where our paper for our money is made. Didn't know there was no wood in it but mainly cotton. The biggest contributor of the cotton is Levi Jeans!
We have also had friends visit from AZ as well as an old jr high friend from Portland ME (only 1 1/5 hrs) We do try to see them monthly before they head to winter in AZ.
During these activities my Raynauds really acted up. So hats, hand warmers, warm socks have been a must. Folks look at me strange but the fingers work so that is what I wear!
I also spend two days a week....and about 45 mins daily at home....with PT. It has made a big difference in my leg strength...had gotten really weak...and I'm really pleased to say it is really helping. Even my hands seem to be better with the exercise.
So folks, that is where I've been. What have you been up to since not posting?

Hey Grammie - You are quite the traveler of late. My father was from Pittsfield and his father, my grandfather, worked at Crain paper. I have not been up that way in several years, all the close relatives have passed away. As a kid I spent a lot of time in that area. My wife just got back on island today after two weeks in Florida to care for her father who has some health issues going on. Our fall weather has been warm but with windy weekends so boating has suffered. I did get out for probably a last ride today as it is supposed to be windy tomorrow and the boat comes out Wed. Looking to get a Vermont weekend in soon, we have been up once and am hoping to get up there next weekend. Had a doc appointment in Dedham yesterday, the last follow up after my shoulder surgery. No change there still no strength up above my shoulder and there won't be any. Still doing PT too. The shoulder is much more stable than before but it is hard to be an electrician that really can't work over his head. No change with the SD - Everything is cruising along quite nicely that front thankfully.
Anyway that is what is up in Jeff world. Not anything too earth shaking but nothing too bad either.

Jeff, Glad things are going smoothly with your SD!! Hang in there with your shoulder.
Good post, Grammie!! That is very interesting about the paper mill. Thanks for sharing. Learned something new today!!! Yay!!
I know I haven't been on much as we recently moved to a new house in a 55+ retirement community and have been busy unpacking boxes and organizing. Like it so far. Have also been busy with our 3 grandson's (I'm a "Grammy" too). My daughter, son-in-law, and baby, just bought a house and moved in one week ago. They were living with us for almost a year. Miss them so much but happy they have finally been able to settle down (he's in the Military) and they are only 10 miles from me! My son and his wife (and 2 g-sons) are in the process of buying a house too and hope to make settlement before Christmas. They will be about 15 miles from me. So, so happy that my family is close.
Our weather in NJ has been fairly mild so far. My Raynaud's hasn't acted up too much. I had an attack today in my house but it wasn't that bad. Found out recently that my Scleroderma Specialist at Jefferson Hosp. in Philadelphia, is having surgery and it's unknown when he will return to practice. I guess I'll rely on my Rheumatologist to follow my SD. I'm having an Upper GI on Monday as I've started with reflux so please pray that they won't find anything that a little Prilosec can't help.
Enjoy the Fall. The leaves down here are at their peak and so pretty!! Stay warm...and healthy!!
Hugs from NJ

Hi grammie, ...Hubby has had a shift change to days, Yay! He still works all weekend, so we don't have much of a social life. I have been playing catch up on fixing up my place, a few ways since I did nothing while he was on lay off and for some time afterward. I finally figured out how to fix my front giant window, I made a shelf, which i mounted a 2 inch white blind with a shelf and I can decorate up there and reduce the formal feeling it gave me. Its really nice! We hung a ceiling fan, had an outlet put into my clothing closet because its big enough that I can leave the ironing board up, all the time, which is nice. We also added another length of wired shelving above the washer drier, so that increased my storage in the laundry area for paper products.
I really enjoyed having gorgeous petunias out front this summer and also enjoyed mums, corn stalks and pumpkins. I am undecided about decorating the for Christmas, I would rather decorate for the season, then there is no rush until February or March to take them down.
My little Libby spent two nights in the animal hospital, they aren't completely sure but they think a bout with pancreatitis, which is not unusual for her breed. She is better now, I cried my head off as she had intravenous fluids and wouldn't eat, we went both days and hand fed her, she is our child!
So we have had some stress, some joy, some changes and we have Monday and tuesday off so we do mostly errands and we usually eat out.
I have been trying to find some good crockpot suppers, We don't eat as much as we used to, and I am not enjoying cooking as much either.
I LOVE... my new to me, car...no heated steering wheel, but heated seats and remote starter is great! ;D Its a Forrester! fun to drive! thanks for the great question I enjoy reading things like this! my best to all! Nancy
