I am going to try this again--hope everyone is adjusting to the fall feel in the air! It is beautifully sunny here in southeast MI, but I definitely know that the seasons have changed. I am going to try to embrace the time of year with making my house smell good! I love the cozy smells of spices, baking, and yes, even the smell when the furnace kicks on! If you can't beat 'em, you may as well join 'em!
I just got my first shipment of coconut oil--I have been reading a lot about it and the many uses for it. It is allegedly good for everything from skin care to cooking and baking. I am anxious to try it and will report back with what I find.
Pace yourselves with the cooler temps, and don't forget those gloves!! I already had to kind of explain the reason for wearing mine in the store yesterday, even though the sun was shining and it was in the upper 50's...'it's a long story' is my general vague response when I feel somewhat of an obligation to respond to people's remarks about why I am wearing them.

I use coconut oil too. I try to eat a Tablespoon a day. Melts in your mouth. Try it when making grilled cheese!!! Mmmmm! Someone also told me that if you swish it in your mouth for 20 MINUTES it kills all bacteria and whitens your teeth. Of course you spit it out when done swishing!!
If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they are the cheapest I've found for 16oz jar.

Hi Christel, and everyone ;D I got into the coconut oil when I was heavy into smoothies. I threw out the canola oil and only use olive and coconut oil, I even have a pam like spray for a grease mist for cooking! You can even use it on toast like butter! I have used it on my face, elbows and swished it! Make sure you get organic virgin! I dont think using natural products can hurt! Its hard...to go all organic.. You will love coconut oil ...there is even a page on FB www.facebook.com/CoconutOilTipsHere is a page for you www.theyummylife.com/Natural_Room_ScentsOh I hear you about the chilly temps, gloves, hand warmers, layers.. My latest mantra is "Don't count the days, make the days count." I am having a challenge with pad loss on my feet and finding shoes with lots of padding. We are at peak this weekend here in S. NH, then it will just get colder... Its off to bed for me, foot cream, white sox..night all...keep warm and cozy.. Make your days count! Nancy

I think I might use coconut oil on my feet and then my sox when I go to bed. Mmmmm, my feet will smell delicious in the morning!! Will probably make me dream about food! Ha! NJ has been in the 60's, except for yesterday and today when it's been rainy and miserable. Luckily I haven't had a Raynaud attack. Staying warm and dressing in layers! I think my hot flashes help out too.....so sometimes I'm happy to have one!
