It has been a while since I (or anyone!) have posted anything on this board...so here goes a little something from me.
The weather here in Michigan is rainy today. (I guess talking about the weather is always a default topic--especially for those of us who are more affected by it than the average bear!) Fall is definitely in the air. I even think I have seen some leaves changing color high up in the tops of some trees.
I will have a busy doctor day on Thursday. I see my dear hand surgeon in the morning, and then will trek to Ann Arbor for my appt. at the Scleroderma Clinic at U of M. It has been 9 months since I saw my rheumatologist since she had a baby in between that time. I will undoubtedly have much to share with her. The hand surgeon will get an earful of questions about my thumb and what (if anything) can be done about the calcinosis in it. I am a bit (ok, a lot) worried about the pain when the fall and winter come as I can already tell it is more painful when I and the thumb get cold. I will keep you posted. It will probably move to the 'scleroderma' section of this board, though.
Hope you all have a relaxing and happy rest of August. I can't believe the summer has moved along so fast!!

How is that thumb doing Christel? Any change? We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow and then nice. I hope so as the our work crew is going off island to a ball game. It is a semipro team in RI and we went last season. I am not much of a baseball fan but it was a nice day away. I don't need to spend a lot of money to go to Boston and watch millionaire ball players. If I want to watch millionaires can go downtown in the summer and watch them walk by for free. Not all that impressive. We finally had a Sat. and Sunday that was sunny both days. Got a bit of boating in but I have not been fishing much, I better get to it as summer is passing me by. Good luck with those appointments Christel I hope all goes well and you get some good news on the thumb. Is it much of a trip to Ann Arbor? Do you have a chauffeur so you can ride in style?

Much belated, but answer to your questions, anyhow, Jeff!
Ann Arbor is 75 miles from my door to their door. It is a very exhausting trip/day as most dr. appt. days are, as I am sure most of you know. I am fortunate that I do have a 'chauffeur' to get me there!!

I am off island to see my shoulder doc next Wed. I think they are going to do range of motion and strength tests. I am as "better" as I am going to get probably. Still doing my exercises daily and think the supporting muscles are getting stronger. I just have no strength above shoulder height. No chauffeur though I'll just have to tough it out.
Our weather has been up and down - hot cool hot cool. Lots of wind.

I'm here at last! I've tried several times but I keep forgetting my password! By the time I've tried them all, I get so frustrated that I turn the computer off for a time! Today I got it correct!!
Been enjoying the weather too. One day I did have to bring out the hand warmers but the sun did feel good. I spotted the hand warmers at Costco this week, and upon the suggestion of my husband, I did buy a case. Still have one from last year. I have even worn a hat this week due to the cool wind. I guess the season is changing.....leaves are so pretty!
Other than that, not much going on here. Oh I did see rhymie and he sees where I've had/got SD in my fingers from first knuckle down but no where else so I'm still off mino.
happy week to all. grammie

Welcome back grammie. This week I reduced my mino a little more. I have been on 100 mg a day and I am going to try to reduce to just five days a week. If all goes well in a month or so I will reduce another day perhaps. We have not had much cold here yet this fall but I have not had a full blown Raynaud's attack. Cutting the lawn yesterday my hands did get coolish but not a "dead guy white" episode. Keeping my fingers crossed - as much as I can anyway.

JEFF: Let me know how y our reduction goes. I have tried to go down to 50 mg 1 time a day but I get SERIOUS burning in hands and feet after a week, plus don't feel right. So for now, I am on 100 mg 1 time a day

So far so good Cubby but has only been three weeks. In another couple of weeks I'll try to drop my Wed. dose. If not I'll just go back for 100 per day.
