Well I go to acupuncture once a week and she takes my pulse etc every time. About a month ago she noted that my heart seemed to be skipping a beat now and again and was a bit irregular. In the past I have noted becoming dizzy when I stood up quickly but that has happened for years and I usually have low blood pressure. So last Friday I went in to see the NP as the doc is on vacation. So I had an ekg and it was normal, I had also had one right before my shoulder surgery 6 weeks ago. She checked that one out and said there were a couple of "extra beats" on that one. I brought up my SD and that I probably use an echo as I had not had one in 6 years or so. Had that today and from what little I was able to get from the tech I think is is OK but will find out next week. Then I went down and got hooked up to a 24 hour heart monitor. This is too much fun right. Have to wear that until tomorrow afternoon. They drew blood this AM so I guess I'll have all kinds of new info later in the week. The NP said it could even be thyroid.
Don't get old!

Well, Jeff, nothing like getting an impromptu million-dollar workup!! Glad things don't look cardiac so far--the other stuff is nonsense, too, but a little less pressing. Keep us posted.

Yeah it probably all is. I am glad to get the echo in as it has been seven years since the last one and that is an SD issue so not all for naught. Turned the monitor in yesterday afternoon and no one has called and I am still walking around so all is well so far . I see a new Rheumy in a couple of weeks, they finally have one visiting the hospital. They have not had one here in a while. It will be interesting to see how he/she (not sure which yet) takes to the mino etc.

Actually it won't be seven years until November so I am ahead of the curve right? You know thinking back I may have had an echo maybe four or five years ago. Way ahead of the curve now right. Be interesting to see what the new rheumy wants. I am soooo not interested in a new breathing study. Put me in a big plastic box and breathe in a manner that no one ever does. That really sucked, talk about feeling like a lab rat. I did have a bone density test done a year ago and my bone loss had stabilized and my blood work is done every six to eight months. Previously I was in for that every three or four months. So Christel what other tests am I missing.

I went back to see the doc on Tues. and my echo was fine. There was one thing she was curious about and I suggested that they check back to an earlier test and compare. Oh yeah they could do that..... The EKG was fine, no skipped or extra beats there were on my preop EKG though. The 24 hour monitor showed some odd beats but no one seems too worried as far as I can tell. I go to off island to the Cardio doc next Thur. So we will see what he thinks. I did solve one question I feel. I had been dizzy from time to time and felt some pressure behind my eyes and forehead. That was not making me feel warm and fuzzy. Earlier in the week I had a day where I had a bunch of episodes of dizzy. I had been having some trouble sleeping so last night I took an Advil PM and as you know it has a decongestant in it to help you sleep. This morning at work I noticed that the right side no longer had the pressure so I took a few sudafed through the day. Now all that pressure is gone and I am just dealing with the weird pulse. I guess it was sinus pressure, it did not feel like it but it has gone. Along with the pressure I had been having sort of an active stomach and that is fine today too. So now I am thinking that my head may not explode after all. I'll give you all an update after Thur.
Enjoy a good weekend. The tropical storm is going by us right now but moving quickly so maybe it will be nice tomorrow. Got to get my boat work done.
