Hi all. Was watching world news tonight with Charlie Gibson (ABC) and they were talking about "Red Yeast Rice" as a natural remedy for cholesterol. Apparently the supplement has been used for IONS in China and has been proven (in the study they were reporting about) to have reduced total cholesterol levels by 27% over a 12 week study. They used 1800 mg. I did some further research through NIH, etc. and found that it really does work with many people and they do not experiencie body pain that the statins produced by pharmaceutical companies seem to create in people. Might be worth a look for those of you taking statin drugs. Here's a link if you want to check it out: abcnews.go.com/WNT/MedicineCuttingEdge/story?id=7846751&page=1 Also, along the same lines, while working in the garden I found myself weeding some POISON IVY, which I swear grows in seconds around my fingers!!! LOL Anyway, I find that if I was with rubbing alcohol after touching it ... or it touching me! ... I don't have a reaction. Lastly, I got an old email about bee stings ... apparently if you tape a penny onto the sting, the copper neutralizes the venom. I guess that's enough science for one day! Hope you all are having a good day filled with sunshine & smiles! Michele
