I am so sad to say that while checking on our "Steve" this morning, I saw this post from his sister on his facebook page:
"My dear sweet, sweet brother,Steve, went to be with the angels. Bless his soul and spirit. He fought valiantly. On behalf of the family we thank everyone for their support and kindnesses. Please continue to extend your kindnesses and support to his loving wife (and the sweetest sister-in-law) Marsha, who never left his side."
Words can not express how heavy my heart is for his beloved wife+family. For ALL of us here on the sclero-board, we feel honored to have known him and he will be sadly missed. I, personally feel devastated, I mentioned to Jeffn that although many of us have never met in person, we have a special bond. Kathleen ...xoxoxoxo

Oh Kath....I just can't, can't believe it!!! Not our Steve! He has been so positive through all this and I thought for sure he would make it. My heart is just breaking for Marcia. She must be devastated. He was so loved and cared for by so many of us and we will especially miss his presence on this board. I feel like a family member of my own has been taken. Heartbreaking news!!

Thanks for posting the sad sad news. Steve was key to me starting AP, and in many respects I owe my life to him.
I am devastated.

Oh Steve to me was such a source of encouragement. I loved his humor, pictures and reading the stories of his adventures...My heart is broke, I will miss him terribly. My thought are with Marsha and the rest of the family... If anyone has a link for a memorial page that we can leave messages for his loved ones I would appreciate it... I am very sad to read this news. Nancy

This is sad news indeed. I first "met" Steve back on the old SDF board when I joined in the fall of 2006. His posts there stuck out because he was always so upbeat, supportive and positive. He always had a kind word or joke and I looked forward to new posts from him. After the collapse of the SDF board and Cubby starting this board Steve was instrumental in keeping us going. I will miss his wit and great attitude. I will miss his stories and travelogues. One of my favorites was the one about waking up on the boat and finding a dead cow stuck under his swim deck and the ensuing struggle to get it free. Hard to find humor in that situation but Steve managed to. He will be missed.
RIP Steve and may you sail on in calm seas.

omg. This is such sad news, and I feel like I have lost a real good friend who fought this battle along with us. I will continue to pray for his family...I miss him already.

Oh my goodness, this is so sad. Even though he had sd Steve was larger then life on this board and i assume at home as well. I will miss his wit and funny stories he would share. He was one person who helped me be more relaxed with my diagnosis. He will be so sadly missed.
