Well on Thursday I met with my pulmonologist about the ground glass in the lungs. Before I went to her office I stopped at my cardiologist's office and gave a copy of the heart stress test and doctor's report to my cardiologist, Dr. Duprey. She said she would give it to him and get back to me.
I then went to the apt with the pulmonolgist and she said she wanted me to have a bronchoscopy. She said it wasn't pulmonary fibrosis because with that the ground glass forms at the bottom and then goes up the lungs. My ground glass was in the upper part of the right lung. She had me go down for a CT to see if there was more ground glass. So off I go to the radiology department and then returned to her office. She read the CT and came in and said the ground glass was GONE!!!! Apparently I had an ifection and it went away by itself. She said being I'm on both Cellcept and Methotrexate that I have no immune system and that if I come across any type of sickness I will get it very easily. She said the infections in the lungs are very serious as they really attack the lungs. Well this was great news.
So my daughter and I decided to do some shopping on the way home and did some damage at Kohls and Target and then stopped and ate dinner. We were on our way home when my cell phone rang. It was Debbie, the cardiologist's assistant. She said I have myocardial ischemia and was a heart attack waiting to happen. She said Dr. Duprey (the cardiologist) wants me to have an angiogram. She said when they are in there if the have to they will do a stent or a balloon or bypass. I could be in there for just a day or longer depending on what needs to be done. She said if I am let go that day that I need to stay at a hotel near the hospital for the night in case there are complications. So this is set for Wednesday the 24th and until then I'm to take it very easy and not do anything strenous. I have nitro to take if I get chest pains but I hate taking it as it really gives a terrible horrific headache. My daughter, the pharmacist, however said I need to take it so that it can ward off a full blown heart attack.
So another bump in the road. I didn't ask if this heart issue is because of the sclero or if its because my Dad had his first heart attack at 41. It seems so hard to believe as I have never smoked but had a ton of second-hand smoke from my parents. I have really, really low blood pressure and my cholestrol is low too. So who knows.
My husband is off riding his harley with a buddy so I'm having a nice quiet afternoon and the weather is wonderful. I got to spend yesterday with my new granddaughter and that was wonderful.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Warm hugs,
Peggy
