Shameless troll #2
While reading the lists of meds folks provided in Shameless troll #1 I realized that I don't know what a lot of the meds people are taking do. Now I could look them up but it might be more interesting if maybe some of you were willing to pick a couple of your meds and tell us what they do, upside and down side etc. feel free to elaborate a little. Any takers? If I don't get any response I'll have to move right to Shameless troll #3. Notice a tend developing?

I'm only on two meds, mino and prilosec. The mino for SD and the prilosec for reflux. From what I understand the mino works in one or both of two ways depending which theory of why AP works you subscribe to. The most basic is that the mino has both anti-inflammatory and anti-collagen properties. In time the mino stops the excess collagen production and the anti-inflammatory helps with the rest. Many that are in remission believe in this version. Another theory is that the SD is caused by a bacterial infection that the body is fighting. In that case the mino is attacking the bacteria (mycoplasmas) along with the anti-inflammatory properties and the anti-collagen properties. I believe in the infectious theory. I used to have a lot of sinus problems and when I would be put on a course of anti-biotics just about the time the pills were gone I would feel great for a few days then back to my "normal" self. I don't think that the anti-collagen/anti-inflammatory properties would kick in that quickly. Also I did not get the effect when I was put on steroids to help drain my ears. I would think the steroid should have functioned as an anti-inflammatory. I feel that presently I am benefiting from both the anti-inflammatory/anti-collagen and the anti-bacterial benefits of the mino.
In a nutshell this is my understanding of the process anyway.

Hi Jeff, I'll get mine done for you. I'm at the cottage right now and am not logging on as much. As you can see by my time ( 3:30am) my insomnia from the fibro is in full swing.......

Thanks for the help guys! Please don't feel like you have to do a lot of work with this. This shouldn't be a job right. Just pick out one or two of your meds and tell us what they do. Thanks
Laurie that sounds like a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon. Do you blast "Pink Cadillac" on the eight track?
