Going in for my second Covid shot on Monday 3/8. Received the Moderna brand. Looking for info from anyone with SD who has already received their second dose as to what if any reaction their reaction was. Thanks

Hi Jeff! I got moderna, nothing notable to mention, fatigue...and a recent cold sore, which I haven't had in 2-3 years! DH had moderna, too! ...How are you doing? I am older than my years. I stopped the mino, after taking it for nearly 10 years. Very annoying Sjogrens. dry mouth, dry (but gunky eyes) hearing issues, had tubes put in, now some deafness. Stomach GAVE returned, had to seal again. I developed RA a couple years back. On Methotrexate for that. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones, but the fatigue is awful. Thinking of you and the others

Good to hear from you Nancy, been a while. Sorry for your complications and now RA too. How is the methotrexate working. Did the GAVE treatment work? As you may recall I had a bout with that too, definitely no fun. Received my second dose with little discomfort. A slight fever that night and a bit sluggish the next day. I am happy to be fully vaccinated now. I can move about more. I have been working with exception of our shut down last March into May. I just have been very careful about the jobs I go to and that has worked out so far.
I'm still on the mino and that's it for SD meds. The SD is stable. I too feel old for my years, but I am old so... Had a partial disc removed in my lower back almost 3 years ago now and had my right knee scoped/cleaned out last May and my left knee done last November. That has been a haul but with any luck I'll be back moving better soon. I have increased my mino dose some recently as the stress of healing was giving me some returning SD warnings. That appears to have resolved thank goodness. The increase appears to have worked. Other than that just trying to get through these crazy times and hoping for a more normal year like everyone else is.
Hang in there Nancy.

Good morning!
So glad to see comments from both of you, although it is old news by now…. Hope you’re still hanging in there! I can’t believe the summer is almost over again.
I had my issues with anemia in the spring which have resolved with an iron infusion and no longer losing blood I didn’t know I was losing! Keeping an eye on my hemoglobin with monthly draws for a while.
Calcinosis in my thumbs is the most painful thing I’m experiencing right now. These little sharp particles seem to form within a day or two, cause unbelievable pain, and finally can be “flicked” out. It leaves a little crater in my digit, and soon is filled again and the cycle repeats itself. I had those surgeries in the past to clean out the calcium, but it doesn’t last, obviously.☹️
We’re in the middle of a heat wave which should get us to mid-week. I’m loving every minute of it, because we all know what is in our future, especially in my beautiful state of Michigan!
I don’t understand what is going on with this COVID stuff. Although I’ve been vaccinated, I continue to be careful in my behavior and wear a mask when out in public and avoid crowded places. Sure hope it is enough.
Again, I’m sorry I haven’t been around more. Hope everyone continues to continue with manageable problems,.. I think that is all we can expect at this stage of our illness/life!
Christel ❤️
