I just received an e-mail from the Roadback Foundation, advising that Nancy Blake passed away December 26. Her son contacted them to let them know.
She was on AP, but had very serious heart issues. I believe she was in her late 70's.
If anyone is interested in sending a card, the following is her address from the Christmas card list:
Blake Family 1196 Green Oak Trail Port Charlotte, Fl. 33948

Anything that happens to any of us, in fact, anyone with Scleroderma, just breaks my heart.

Thanks for the notice. I reread a recent email I received from Nancy on Nov 1st. She had just come back from the hospital with Pneumonia and bleeding stomach. She did say that she had been on AP for 2 years and that she felt that it had (at least) kept her SD from getting worse. She was 78 and here husband is 80. There are some other things I can pass on. It is sad.

That is so sad. I remember her posting a lot on the Roadback. I am so sorry to hear that she passed away. How awful.

I have been fortunate enough to receive e-mails from Nancy's husband, who wishes to remain on the board. They were married for 55 years and courted for 5 prior to marrying. What a beautiful testament to love and marriage!!!

Yes, I hope he will visit us. He said he would, I imagine he just needs some time.

Nancy and I talked often a couple years ago, she shared with me her sons experiences of going off to college when Jess was in the process of choosing schools. We shared recipes and just chatted, mostly about non-sclero and non-AP issues. She was a sweet lady. I will miss her!
