Hi Jeff, I sometimes get a shudder as well but the dr never said anything about it. I think I'll stick it out for awhile before I go on anything else. It's nice just thinking "less pills to take" yeh... I guess the only good thing about having Raynaud's is that we all have our own internal air conditioner in the summertime, also helps with us females yr round going through menopause.

I guess you guys are way passed the amlodipine stage; you seem to be taking so many different things for Raynauds. I don't have many problems now, but I live in FL, and we are getting temps in the high 80's now. If I could get the hubby and son to just leave the A/C off I would be really happy.

A long time ago, I took some heart med for my Raynauds. Then when I had to start seeing a cardiologist, he took me off of it because he said it was affecting something else heart related. I have been on Isosorbide for awhile now, it is for my esophageul spasms. It has nitro in it and it has helped. I also take simvistatins. I don't get attacks as sever as I once did, but I am always cold and still get milder attacks. Sometimes it is even worse on my ears and nose. I watch TV year round wrapped up in a heavy throw, Sammie

I took ADALAT for the Raynauds. I took it for 4 years and just went off it about 2 months ago. So far, so good. Believe it or not, I think my hair has gotten softer and less dry since I got off it.

I don't take anything for Raynauds. The Rumie looked into it for felt I'd benefit from it but my blood pressure is naturally low so can't take any meds. They haave a tendency to drop the blood pressure and I can't afford a lower one. So I do the 'home remedies" kind of things....as I sit here with a blanket over my shoulders...ugh

Hi Grammie, I too and currently doing the home remedies. The sd rheumy wanted me to start another med but I didn't get the rx filled. I'm going to try to stick it out until the fall time, it's been pretty tough so far as the weather here has been up and down.

GRAMMIE AND EVERYONE ELSE: Get a THERMAPHOR MUFF. It is a moist heat hotpad. They have flat ones also. That is what I used for my hands.

Cubby, Adalat was the first drug that they gave me for the Raynaud's. I had almost all of the side effects, didn't last long on that one. Thanks for the muff idea, I'm going to look into it. Only thing is most of the good products are from the States and I live in Canada and sometimes the shipping/customs costs are more then the product.
