Back has been SLOWLY improving and recently, 2 weeks ago, began PT. Quite a bit of improvement in those two weeks. I was beginning think the back pain would be my new normal. At my checkup with my PCP I spoke with her about the back pain and she suggested PT visits. I had not gone originally as the surgeon really downplayed PT but would make it available if I wanted. Did not take him up on that. I have no idea why he was negative about it but I should have started back in August after the operation. The same woman who did my PT after my shoulder injury is doing the back. I am more upbeat about the eventual outcome now than two weeks ago. I'm just keeping my with my exercises three times a day and hoping for more improvement.
Still in a stormy wet weather pattern this spring so far. Temps in the 40s or low 50s for the most part. Yucky out. My Raynaud's episodes have been less frequent so that helps my attitude. Summer is out there somewhere.

Great to hear you’re hopeful about the PT. I can vouch for the fact that it is so important and I’m also glad you found a therapist that you have experience in. Good luck with that!
Spring may have finally arrived in Michigan, too. I’ve actually been able to tiptoe outside without my gloves. We’re expecting 80 degrees on Sunday-woohoo!! I’m in!!☀️ I think we all deserve it after surviving another long and miserable winter!
Happy Spring ☀️🌺

Well almost a year after surgery and the back (crossed fingers) is finally showing improvement. Don't get me wrong the severe hip and leg pain was gone right after the surgery but the lower back had never felt "right" since. The PT has really helped I feel and I have had a number of good days of late. Still know it is there but I can do more and more at work - really have to watch my lifting still , maybe that will improve also.

I think most things are much more slow to change both with scleroderma and our AGE... Sorry to have to admit, but reality, nonetheless.
I know I take any improvements I can. I try to concentrate on those things, rather than what is lagging. That certainly doesn’t mean I always practice what I preach or don’t need constant reminders!!
Be thankful for the positive changes, Jeff!
One day at a time.
