Yes, there are few areas that are immune from the crazy varieties of weather out there! I’ve been hibernating when it’s really bad. We’re expecting down to -25 with wind chills later on today... When the news does stories on increased risk of frostbite, I’m thinking “hmmm, really? Welcome to my daily life!”
Stay warm and safe, everyone!
On a more optimistic note, we are supposed to get to the low 30’s on Sunday and Monday-hear wave!!
For sure Christel! This weather really sucks. 2 degrees here this morning - wind chill I don't want to know. Storm Greyson came buy and with the winds from that and the frigid temps resulting in sea ice the fast boat has been on hold all week, really off and on service since Christmas week. Slow boats have not been running as well. They are running a trip or two today to bring in fuel and food for the grocery stores if possible. Had some flooding in low areas, don't think it got into any homes though. Winds steady 60 mph and gusts to 80. Having some heat issues here in the house, plumbers have been here twice and the system is still not right. Never been a problem before. Not too bad, coping with it. Temp. predicted to go to 30 tomorrow and around freezing all week. I hope you all are staying warm. Think warming up this week is a pattern change or just a few days of winter normal
Today was better high around 10 and the wind lighter. Coast Guard ice breaking tug was in and I saw a freight boat leaving earlier. Fast boat will be several days before it will begin to run again, too much ice still. Warm weather, 30ish, this week so the ice should clear out quickly - maybe. Stay warm guys.
