Stopped my doctors office yesterday to get some more refills on a non SD med and was told my Dr. is on medical leave is leaving the island. He is having a medical issue and I don't think he is coming back into the office before he leaves. Seems like I just went through this - oh well. He was really good and liked him a lot, he was knowledgeable, reasonable and did some research on AP and was good to go with it. There are only two other doctors accepting new patients on island and one I won't go to so I guess as soon as I get a minute I will be stopping by my hopefully new docs office to see if I can get an appointment to see if he is OK with AP and the mino. If he isn't I will have to find someone that is AP accepting on the other side but still sign up with the doc here for my other more immediate health need should they arise. It is always something!

Oh heck, Jeff. I just saw this...
Sure hope you get the cooperation you're looking for in a new doc. It means the world to have someone on your side 100%. It sure seems like someone would be glad to accept you since you're on cruise with a treatment that is working! (Plus you're one heck of a nice guy!😉)

You make me blush... Checking out some angles on this. The Rheumy that visits here, we don't have a resident one, is OK with the mino. I have not seen him in a few years but that is an option. In theory a new doc is coming in around May or June but you never know and will they like it here? Island life is not for everyone. You are correct it does seem easier to find a doc to keep me on mino than it was finding one to start mino. This week coming up is a school vacation week and many people will be away so I will start my quest for a new doc the week after. I'm here but with so many people away it is really hard to get any answers. I know someone here who is taking mino for RA so he will be looking too, saw him the other day and we will be networking on this.

New doc starting in a week or so. In theory he has a five year commitment here. We shall see. Anyway I have an appointment with him in a couple of weeks and will run AP by him then. Hope he is down with it but you never know.

The search continues. Saw the new doc and the jury is still out, pursing a couple of other options. Will know more by the end of next week. Did see the visiting Rheumy at the request of the new doc. A bit frustrating in that the computer system at the hospital previously did not allow for the visiting docs to access all the my records. In short the first time I saw the rheumy he was unable to see my workup from 2006, the beginning of my active SD. This time he could access those records but he had not looked at them yet. Go figure. He did seem pleased with my overall condition and recommended staying on mino. They have a new computer system that they recently began using but all my old stuff does not appear. According to the system I have never had any blood work or anything. in the past 45 years.

Jeff, you know it is somewhat irresponsible to not have blood tests or treatment in 45 years. Especially when you have a condition like scleroderma😳!
Hope they can get it together over there to keep you properly controlled. It's sure crazy when someone has it figured out and is doing well, and then the powers that be can't let it continue. If it's any consolation, they're everywhere!
Hope you're enjoying the summer among the throngs of people called tourists who like to hang out there. I'm loving and appreciating every minute of this weather!

Yeah I just said screw it to tests during the last several decades! Not really during the GAVE period I was in every week for blood work sometimes a couple times a week. I am anxious to get some new blood workups done just to see what is going on. Maybe someday their computer stuff will catch up, if not I probably copies of that stuff around here somewhere.
Summer is tourist season for sure with a small REALLY annoying segment this year. They will begin to thin out in the next few weeks though and in the fall it is much more manageable and there are a couple of fun fishing tournaments, looking forward to those. Warm weather is nice on the body and I appreciate it more every year. I could use a trip off island but have been too busy, maybe soon.
